Dickerson Commits to Irish

By Chris Jackson Saturday August 3, 2013
After enough time to think things over, Serra 2014 defensive end Matt Dickerson
decided to make it official. He committed to Notre Dame.
Dickerson decided to commit to the Irish during an unofficial visit to South
Bend.
While he also had offers from 15 other schools, including powerhouse Oregon
and locals Cal and San Jose State, Notre Dame was the perfect fit for him with
their prestigious academics and tremendous football program.
As a junior, Dickerson had 42 tackles and four tackles-for-loss as Serra finished in 2nd place in the
West Catholic Athletic League behind Bellarmine while advancing to the semifinals of the CCS Open
Division Playoffs, where they lost to league rival Bellarmine.
This season, Dickerson will look to lead Serra past Bellarmine in one of the toughest leagues in the Bay
Area, and hopefully become the CCS OpenDivision champions while also trying to advance to NorCal
and possibly state.
Dickerson looks to become one of the top defensive players in the region this upcoming season after
becoming Notre Dame's 17th commitment in the 2014 class.
