Kameron Johnson Delivers as Granada Sweeps Livermore
By Chris Jackson Friday February 20, 2015
LIVERMORE, CA-A city championship and Kameron Johnson explained the entire evening.
Senior Kameron Johnson scored a game-high 38 points as the host Granada Matadors cruised past
the Livermore Cowboys, 64-46.
Johnson's performance signified his entire high school career. A four year varsity starter, the improvements
and high-talent level showed on senior night.
Collin Stafford attested to the electric performance from Johnson. Highlighted by a ferocious slam in the first
half, he finished with 11 points and gave Granada the momentum it needed after the dunk.
Stafford's dunk made it 23-16 midway through the second quarter and have the Matadors the momentum
and energy they used for the remainder of the contest. His inside presence helped them control the contest
near the rim.
With plenty of help from the dunk, Granada finished the half on a 15-2 run to take a commanding 32-16 lead.
From there, the victory was well intact as it swept Livermore for the third consecutive season.
Aaron Kawahara lead Livermore with 18 points and helped keep the game close early on. Jordan Cisneros and
Michael Dayton each added seven, and Cody King had six.
The loss marked Livermore's 17th straight as it finished the season at 2-24 overall and 0-14 in a grueling EBAL
schedule. Kawahara and Medeiros return next season as they look to bounce back and help take Livermore back
to the next step.
Granada closes the regular season at 15-11 overall and 5-9 in EBAL. It will await the NCS playoff seedings on
Sunday to determine if it is in or not due to the fact that over 16 teams qualified.
