Division One: De La Salle vs. Pittsburg, Saturday 12/6, 7:30 pm @Dublin
For 22 straight seasons, the De La Salle Spartans have come out as the champions of NCS. The last time they lost in NCS was back in 1991 to Pittsburg, the last Northern California team to also beat them. De La Salle comes in averaging 53.7 points per game and has outscored opponents 644-140. Two big wins over national powers Byrnes-South Carolina (56-28) and Servite-Anaheim (47-24) highlight the teams dominance. Pittsburg has won two straight BVAL titles and will look to defend the unstoppable run game from De La Salle, featured by juniors Antoine Custer and Andrew Hernandez. Defensive back Jordan Parker held USC commit Isaiah Langley to two yards receiving on Saturday and the defense also held a potent Foothill offense to seven points. Pittsburg's defense allows an average of 8.5 points per game and is among the states top defenses.
Division Two: Clayton Valley Charter vs. Concord, Friday 12/5, 7:00 pm @ Diablo Valley College
Both are huge rivals and add to the intensity of the NCS championship. Clayton Valley beat the Minutemen earlier this season, 48-40, and staved off a late comeback from its rival. The duo have one two of the last four NCS titles and will now make it three out of five. Concord last did it in 2010 and Clayton Valley won in 2012. Concord quarterback Mitchell Daniels has thrown for 3714 yards this season and is still eager for his first offer. With many schools interested, another stellar performance should make that first one come. Star running back Miles Harrison has rushed for 1844 yards and 23 touchdowns, averaging 12.7 yards per carry. The two offenses are averaging a combined 52.5 points per game, making for another shootout from the ClayCord Cup rivals.
