Offense Explodes as Foothill Advances to Semis
By Chris Jackson Friday November 21, 2014
PLEASANTON, CA-Following a heartbreaking defeat to rival Amador Valley, the mojo returned to Foothill.
The Falcons stormed to an early 27-0 lead en route to a 54-8 trouncing of the Antioch Panthers to advance to the
NCS Division 1 semifinals.
USC commit Isaiah Langley took a screen from SMU bound Kyle Kearns 36-yards for the score to put Foothill up 20-0
and put the game away quickly. Langley wasn't done yet.
On the ensuing defensive possession, Langley's heroics continued as he returned an overthrown snap at the Foothill
six all the way to the end zone to make it 27-0 in the second. From that point on, the end result wasn't in question.
Sophomore sensation Najee Harris displayed his four-star abilities throughout with his all-around athleticism and
toughness. He rushed for 140 yards and his touchdown run was one of the highlights of the game.
Harris ran over a pair of defenders, juked another couple and ran in for the 33-yard score. On the two-point conversion,
he ran left and hurdled a defender to cut the deficit to 27-8 and had the crowd in awe.
But following a 371-yard performance at San Leandro, a game in which Harris broke the school record, the Falcons
defense held him in check on many plays. He finished with 140 yards and over 2200 yards on the season.
Isaiah Floyd's all-around performance gave Foothill a huge boost on both sides of the ball. He returned an interception
for a touchdown and also had a rushing touchdown alongside 78 rushing yards.
Kyle Kearns tossed for 217 yards and two scores, highlighted by a perfectly thrown 26-yard pass to Isaiah Langley to put
them up 41-8 with 9:28 left in the third quarter.
Langley recorded over 100 total offensive yards with three total scores and displayed why he's committed to USC. His
dominance this season had a big effect on the Falcons EBAL title run.
The victory for Foothill helped it advance to the NCS semifinals for the first time since 2008, which they fell to eventual
champion De La Salle. This years semifinals matchup will be against Pittsburg, one of the top contests in all of Northern
California
