Week 8 Games to Watch
#4 Deer Valley vs. #22 Liberty
Deer Valley is riding a 7-game win streak heading into their showdown with Liberty.
The Wolverines feature dual-threat quarterback Nsimba Webster, along with twin
brother, receiver/defensive back Nzuzi Webster. Their defense will look to come
through again especially with linebacker Malik Hutchings, who is having a
monstrous season. Liberty is having one of their best seasons, posting a 6-1
record on the field, but 4-3 due to the fact they had to forfeit their first two wins.

coming off a 28-7 loss to CCS powerhouse Serra. Running back Kirk Johnson looks
to lead them to victory.

Both Cal and San Ramon Valley are tied atop the East Bay Athletic League standings,
and hope to remain there. Cal boasts a bruising running game with senior Blake
Bierwith and junior Simi Hingano. Also watch out for dual-threat quarterback
Cameron Owen. Bierwith will be key for the Grizzlies as he has over 100 yards and 16
touchdowns this season. San Ramon Valley is coming off a close 31-26 victory over
Granada, and will look to quarterback Matt Winaker to lead them to victory, who is on a roll as
he is tearing apart defenses. Running back Marcus De La Pena will also be key
for the Wolves along with junior receivers JJ Koski and Christian Fuca.

Junior quarterback Kyle Kearns will look to get through the Granada defense,
which has strong play on the defensive side of the ball led by Riley Draa,
Colten Paynter, and Jon Poppe. Junior receiver/defensive back Isaiah Langley
will also be key for Foothill, and he has recorded multiple interceptions and
touchdowns this season. Senior Jamirr Holland will also be crucial for the
Falcons run game, along with in the secondary. Granada will look to athlete
Casey Soltis, an Oregon baseball commit, to lead their offense at running back. Javonn Williams will also need
to be a focal point on the Matadors offense and defense.

be a tough opponent, and can give the Monarchs fits on offense, as its defense
has allowed just 54 points through 6 games this season. Running back Alex
Andrighetto will need to have a big game at running back if St. Francis hopes to
come out on top. Mitty features a balanced run game, as they have used three
running backs in split time with Dakari Monroe, Chandler Ramirez, and Kyle
Evans. Their defense has allowed just 69 points all season.

perfectly throwing for over 1800 yards and 18 touchdowns. This is a game of
quarterbacks, as Menlo also features gunslinger Jack Heneghan, who has also
thrown for over 1800 yards and 26 touchdowns. Whoever wins this game will have
had the better night from its quarterback.
Terra Nova has one of their toughest football teams in years, and has led them to a
6-0 record so far. Junior quarterback Anthony Gordon has managed their offense

in five-star Stanford quarterback commit Keller Chryst, who has thrown for over
1400 yards and 16 touchdowns, and will look to improve their record to 4-3. But
Milpitas is no slouch as they boast three star running back Squally Canada, an
800-yard rusher this season, along with two-star receiver Tre Hartley, who has
over 700 yards receiving. Both teams will look to their high-potent offenses in
order to come out on top.
